Peace

"Peace discovered will never minimize what was lost,
but experiencing peace does afford us the ability to finally
disengage from the battle of resisting what has already happened
and what we cannot change.
It is that place of acceptance called healing."

Naomi Zacharias

I got that quote from this blog. I have loved reading about their journey through adoption and have found so much insight and honesty there.

When I read that quote it so perfectly described the last two weeks of my life... and several other instances but we'll just talk about this one. Once we got news that this baby in LA was not our baby the fight ended. It didn't mean that pain didn't happen and that we weren't sad... but there was peace. We began to heal and heal quickly because we knew that our baby was and is still out there.

So through this week, we've begun to refocus our hearts and minds from what was not to be to what is to come. There are still moments of frustration and exhaustion. We get confused and worried, tired and overwhelmed but also excited. Slowly that excitement is coming back. There are still fears about money that we have to continually take to God but He is so faithful! As for now I'm resting in this place of healing. Adoption has a lot of twists and turns and there is no guarantee that the next turn will bring us "home". We're waiting and hoping though that it will be soon!

be blessed!
